Alpine County has no jail facilities, so the right contact depends on who created the record and where the person was held. Use Alpine Sheriff for local arrest, citation, transport, and agency records. Use the holding county jail records unit for booking and release dates. Use Alpine Superior Court for case disposition, bail, sentence, dismissal, probation, warrant recall, and other court entries.

Alpine Sheriff Records
The Alpine County Sheriff's Office is the local law-enforcement contact for Alpine arrest, incident, citation, transport, and agency records. The sheriff page also states that Alpine has no jail facilities and contracts jail services to El Dorado County and Calaveras County, so a booking or release record may be held by one of those jail agencies.

Alpine Court Records
Alpine County Superior Court can confirm records that outlast a jail roster, including bail, own-recognizance release, sentence, credit for time served, dismissal, warrant recall, probation, transfer, or state-prison commitment. The court does not provide an online public case portal or a public terminal at the Markleeville courthouse. Search and copy requests are handled by staff in person, by mail, or by fax. Email name-search and copy requests are not processed.

Name-search requests longer than 10 minutes have a $15 fee per name or alias, and copies are $0.50 per page. Off-site storage retrieval may add one to two weeks.
El Dorado Records
El Dorado County is one of Alpine County's named contract jail-service counties. Use El Dorado Records when the person was housed at the Placerville Jail or South Lake Tahoe Jail. El Dorado states that public-records requests may be made in person, by fax, or by mail, with a response within 10 working days. Report copies are $0.25 per page, cash or check only.

El Dorado local CORI reports can show El Dorado County Jail booking and release dates for 10 years, arresting agency, and charges. The local criminal history check fee is $25, and a clearance letter is $30.
Calaveras Records Route
Calaveras County is the other jail-service county named by Alpine. If an Alpine arrest was housed through Calaveras, use the Calaveras Sheriff's Office records-request channel and the Adult Detention Facility records path. Public arrest information may also appear through Calaveras Citizen RIMS arrests or daily booking logs, but the research did not confirm a dedicated Alpine release archive there.
For a Calaveras-held Alpine case, ask for booking date and time, release date and time, release reason, arresting agency, charges, bail or bond status, transfer agency, and booking photo availability. If the holding county is unclear, ask Alpine Sheriff which contract jail received custody before filing a detailed request.
CDCR and VINE
For a person sentenced to state prison, use CDCR CIRIS and CDCR assistance rather than a county jail page. CDCR Identification Unit helps with CIRIS questions at 916-445-6713, Monday-Friday excluding holidays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific. For custody-change alerts, use California VINE or the general VINELink portal. VINE is a notification system, not the official booking record. California VINE support has been listed in county materials as 1-877-331-8463.
